Globe Valve Operation:

Globe valves are suitable for use in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. They exhibit higher pressure losses compared to other valve types. Internal sealing is achieved through the surface-to-surface contact of a vertically moving plug against a horizontal metal seat. Sealing between the valve body and the atmosphere is provided by a wire-reinforced graphite gasket or a standard graphite gasket. Sealing around the valve stem is ensured by a stuffing box assembly consisting of elastic sealing rings.
Fluids handled by globe valves include water, hot water, superheated water, steam, thermal oil, compressed air, fuel oil, LPG, heat transfer oils, and chemical fluids.
